Gardening with a 2 Year Old

With my fiance gone the past few weeks for military training and such, it became my responsibility to tend to our extremely large garden. I always beg David to make it smaller than the last year, but it only seems to get bigger. Watering a garden with a 2 year old can be quite the task. The grass tends to get more watering than the plants and I always get soaked by the stubborn two year old who likes to be in charge of the hose…

Ready to go!

This is where he stands most of the time. Filling up his jug and pouring it out/spilling it on himself.
"Woahh!!"
“Woahh!!”
LD decided that the grass needed the water more than our plants.

And again with the grass...
And again with the grass…
and again.
and again.
Now, let the soaking of mom commence.

He clearly finds it hilarious.

So, he keeps doing it :)

In the end, LD always manages to get us both dirty and wet and I do most of the leg work 😉 but the garden eventually gets watered. Thank God, my fiance is back now because I don’t think I’m cut out for this. I cut down some of the lettuce today and flipped when a bug crawled out of it as I was washing it. At least the salad is good.
