Let me just say, I am not pretending to be an avid reader. If I’m lucky enough to get the little one to bed at a decent hour, I too often fall into the temptation of watching a movie with my impossible-to-say-no-to fiance and by the time we get in bed, I am just too tired to read. I WANT to read more like my sister and mom do. I actually made it one of my New Years Resolutions, but unless I am extremely interested in the book, it gets pushed aside for TV, movies, my family, chores, blogging, YouTube videos, and sleep.
That being said, I have THREE WHOLE BOOKS that I want to talk about. I am hoping to keep this up, which is why I titled this accordingly. It feels like I’ve started my own personal book club!

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
My sister told me she felt like she was a little old for this book and I can see what she meant. That being said, it was still amazing, as expected. It was a fast and interesting read. I have never read a book as quickly as I read this one. Not even close. The weird thing is… I didn’t cry. I guess I kind of knew what was going to happen (based on movie previews, which by the way stole the best lines from the book so they were less meaningful when I read them) and I heard how everyone sobbed towards the end of the book, so I was prepared. I was also kind of waiting to be stunned with something, but by mid-book I knew what was going to happen and it happened, so alas I am probably the only person who did not cry while reading this. Still awesome! Definitely recommend this!

The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty
I am actually listening to this one! That being said, I am not going to pay $14 a month for Audible so I need to finish this book in the first free month! Am I cheap? Maybe. The problem is this book is a bit more slow. It’s still interesting though and I am now hooked on the various storylines that intertwine. As the title implies, it is about their husbands secrets. Don’t try to guess what the secrets are either, I was just shocked by a twist one storyline just took.
P.S. I have found that I really do enjoy listening to audiobooks! I listen while doing dishes, folding laundry, laying in bed, and at the gym. I especially love listening at the gym. It gets me SO PUMPED UP! 😉

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
I have a sneaking suspicion that I am going to love Gone Girl (based on my sister’s recommendation that I “need to read it.” Why? “Because you just have to”). I need more recommendations because I really do love reading when I actually do it. Should I read the Divergent series?
