Tall-Crown Hats | How To Wear It

Tall-crown hats, wide brim fedoras, western “Indiana Jones” hats… whatever you call them, one thing is for sure, they can be a bit over the top (literally). Especially on the runway. Glamour Magazine calls this one of Fall 2014’s most “wearable trends”. Really? “Think an exaggerated fedora, a proper cowboy hat, or a Pennsylvania Dutch-inspired cap,” says Glamour’s Nikki Ogunnaike.

That’s all well and good, Glamour and Elle, but how do real people wear this trend, like out in the real world? And more importantly, how do we NOT pay a million dollars on a hat that is so trendy it may not be worth a huge price tag? First, try pairing it with casual boyfriend jeans – or just your favorite pair of flattering jeans. Then, I love layers. Go ahead and layer on oversized sweaters, military jackets, leather jackets or a plaid top for a casual, thrown together look.

Let’s look to Claire Marshall for inspiration on this one because she always knows how to style every trend.

Seriously, am I right about Claire or what? I also scoured the web for hats that you can buy without feeling guilty that you can’t buy groceries for a month.
