Ever since January 1st, I have been ready for summer, but I’ll settle for spring. Last summer, we spent every weekend at the beach (local state parks that we drive onto and can fish at…. and drink at) from morning well into the night and I am ready to start doing that again.
Since I can’t force the weather to change, I focus on what I can control. My makeup. Simple, bronzy eyes and medium plum shades scream “winter to spring transition makeup” to me…..
So, let’s get started!
First, I applied a huge helping of my moisturizer and a light layer of Loreal True Match foundation. Of course, I followed this up with my Maybelline Fit Me concealer under my eyes. On most days I will only use concealer.
Next up, eyes. I used this bronze Make Up Forever Aqua Cream as a base (sorry, the shade number has worn off) with The Balm’s Betty-Lou Manizer on my eyes. I find it a bit dark and too much of a shimmery bronze to use on my face right now, but it works great as a bronzey eyeshadow until I get some more color! I followed it up with my usual Revlon Brow Fantasy and Covergirl Lash Blast mascara.
Cheek products are my favorite. Well, second only to lips! I used the bronzer and highlight in the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow along with Mac’s Blushbaby. It is an amazing neutral blush that I thought was perfect for this time of year (not too dark yet not too bright and “springy”).
Finally, the lipstick that inspired this whole look and one of my new favorites. Mac’s Plumful has been recommended to me by everyone, but for some reason, I didn’t get it until now. It’s the perfect, mid-tone raspberry shade that is on the sheer side which makes it perfect and wearable.
And, that’s the finished look! I seem to get into such a rut where I use the same makeup for a while so it feels nice to switch things up.
