Face Of The Day ft. Best of 2015

So I never did the obligatory “2015 Beauty Favorites” post or video. I have been crazy busy (Babe is officially gone now, as you may know), I didn’t want to half ass the post and my heart just wasn’t in it every time I sat down to film a long, peppy video. I was about to give up and say, next year, but then one day I had an idea.

I basically do my makeup everyday (ok, everyday that I wear makeup, I mean) with my favorite products of 2015, so why not do a basic FOTD using them and quickly tell you about AMSL’s Best Beauty Products of 2015?!

If I have a review already posted on the blog, you will see it linked below along with where you can buy the product. If there isn’t a review linked and you’re interested in the product, request it down below and I will move it to the top of my “Must Review On The Blog” list.

Let’s begin. Here is what I used to achieve this natural look (unless otherwise noted).

Best Face Products (foundations, concealers, and face powders)

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation – Okay, technically it’s the only LEGIT foundation I’ve tried all year (I’m all about concealer or tinted moisturizer). I’m a minimalist usually, but this is amazing. Review.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer – Unfortunately, it’s not what I used in this FOTD. I ran out and now I’m using an old “fav” Maybelline FIT Concealer and I’m NOT loving it. Review.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit – This is what I used today. It’s my favorite face powder, highlight AND contour (review coming soon).

Second place contour: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil BronzerReview.

Second place highlight: Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Highlight 01Demo.

Best Blushes (Because I can’t just pick one.)

MAC Blush Ombre in Ocean City – Used in this FOTD. It was my go to all spring AND summer. Too bad it’s limited edition, it is unlike anything else.

ColourPop Blush in Cruel Intentions – All of their blushes, really. The texture is unique and looks so natural on the skin. First Impressions.

Maybelline Master Hi-Light in Light Bronze – The perfect all in one blush, bronzer and highlight. Review.

Best Eye Products (brows, lashes, shadow, primer)

MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre – Have loved this for years and at this point I honestly don’t use any other primer any more.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit – But wait, this is a face palette? Just wait for my review. It’s LEGIT as eyeshadow. I love the look of it in these photos.

Second place eyeshadow palette: Lorac MegaPro palette (because I used it a lot the first half of the year). Review.

Another honorable mention: MAC Nordstrom Naturals palette (lovely, but I haven’t used it enough yet for it to be THE winner). Review.

CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara (waterproof) – I used Too Faced Better Than Sex for a while this year, but you just can’t beat out my CoverGirl mascara even if it were as expensive as the Too Faced… yes, I said it. It’s also the only waterproof formula I can stand for gym days too.

Maybelline Brow Drama – No fuss brow gel that gives me the results I want for an every day look. Review.

Second place brow product: NYX Micro Brow PencilReview.

Best Lip Products (liquid lipstick, everyday lippie & lip care)

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina – Of course, I used this for today’s FOTD. Bought it for my sister’s wedding, it’s perfect for bridal makeup. It’s my ideal shade and I love the staying power.

Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Warm Caramel – I had to include this because when in doubt, I put this on. It’s unusual for me because it’s nude and shimmery but something about it is sexy and makes my lips look so. much. better. I reviewed the entire line, but heard they came out with more, eek! Review.

ELF Lip Exfoliator – Cheap and effective. Enough said.

Jack Black Lip Balm – Now I understand what Temptalia was talking about all those years… Review.

Best “Other” Products (hair and skin)

Cetaphil Face Wash – Simple, gentle, drugstore and does it’s job. This hasn’t changed in my routine for years now.

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask – A really effective and much needed exfoliator that works well for my skin. Don’t eat it, you’ll want to.

Simple Cleansing Micellar Water – That reminds me, I ran out last night and need it IMMEDIATELY. Review.

Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray – Dry skin? Use this. In a rush? Use this. Cakey makeup? Use this.

Coconut Oil – I put this in my hair for a deep conditioner/hair mask and sleep in it overnight. Cheaper than most masks, organic and super effective.

It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product – My hair soaks this stuff up. It helps make my crazy hair more manageable, less dry and easier to brush.

No moisturizer, eyeliner, nail product, or face primer favorites! I didn’t want to mention one just to mention one when I’m not IN love. 🙂

Questions of the Day:

What were your 2015 makeup, skincare and hair favs??

Which product mentioned above would you like me to review that I haven’t already?
